Gnonnet by end-user Greg Fraser

All This Hospitality and Kindness

All this hospitality and kindness,
it does not accept the first thing. Small,
he wants me—in view and not to smile. Yes,
I thought he had heard and seen it all . . .
Noble look. Rich and so. Promises
of faith and correspondence. On the evening
of “every thing go well and the oh!” he says
we’ll wed. I never have been a real thing.
We talk of the whole, the usual hour
of exploring, how ladies can never think
of pushing the paper. I protest against our
laughter now. I grow more frightened and sink
into fearful affection. London—it is
entirely a mistake. Candles everywhere. His.

Some Gnoetry Flarf for Y'all

I'm trying to loosen up a bit. The Same has been really demanding and increasingly serious in tone and content. I'm on vacation! And a little manic! So here's some Flarf.

First You'd Have to Make Her Feel It
Mon Jun 29 21:25:57 2009

As with a felony, each day, hot belly and the phone
off the web is the heroic attempt of puberty,

having no connection to CNN.com and started having sex.
But in my life carefully controlled and refined

sex. Though the men are better advised to
employ slaves; go to video display. I mean it's

all very chop chop. As we've seen, our
data might play teeter or seesaw, or do they

just shoot all they want to. The content, sir,
walked over to Microsoft. Oil is indeed a

woman's work, carrying away his prize, as
it appears, Greek style. This wedding excites me because

I'm in the Manga market. This is a completely new kind
of statement made by the dog as samples, indirect

blocks are insufferable. The problem really is stored in the
argument bar. Great animal instinct, we go

to the sentimental qualities of mankind and
minimize them with pony and lawyers, architects, and

the antique furniture everywhere was up
to their red asses and mysterious.

Free Grass (20 Haikus)

In a dream, Lawrence Lessig's Free Culture and Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass were made one! Here are the prophetic copyright fruits of my Sunday morning.

Sun Jun 28 10:32:55 2009 through Sun Jun 28 12:32:37 2009

O my brothers and
Warner Brothers, and the Marx
Brothers and sisters.

I find it very
hard disk. O to disengage
myself from my life.

Land of content that
fills me, the soul of me now
for distribution.

O to return to
paradise! O songs of life
now full of content.

I don't care whether
my students respect the law
they syndicated.

I love the wind with
girlish laughter, the Wayback
Machine is perfect.

O pulse of lonesome
love! Shapes of the computer
will not sing with us!

The flesh over and
over again, different
colors, races, dead.

Ah to sing of the
spray. The United States in
thee ejaculate!

This is a machine:
increasingly, the system
could be a list, great!

I don't think about
literacy. Land of the
justification.

Mark the inception
of copyright. Launched in dreams,
all of property.

The mania of
Americans, they do not
know what is enough.

How many people
rage, western youths, so vague and
yet so certain, too.

The young men! They do
not understand, but I too
love like the armies.

Rise up and gone and
done something unseen, with no
copying, Vista!

Land of values. I
do care whether my students
respect the market.

My face is access,
not permissions. I could be
hypocritical.

Worse yet, even as
I am rapt with love I fill
myself with soldiers.

Yes my enemies,
aware of the body and
mind, how will we live?

Gnoetry Installation Howto

I just posted a howto for installing Gnoetry 0.2 on my digital writing blog. I've been working on ways to run Gnoetry in its current form on computers that run Windows and Mac OS X, and thanks to Wubi and VMWare, I've been able to do just that without too much pain. Of course you can also follow the instructions for Ubuntu if you're running a clean Linux install.

My hope is that this will make the program more accessible while also spreading the joy of Ubuntu around.

Fri Jun 19 21:01:40 2009 (I see a beautiful world)

But, Mr. Lorry, I see a beautiful world
we live in unison, and one hundred and five, guardians
of our adventures. The way he came, swinging his hammer,
soldiers laugh and pick him up, like some great height to france. And now a
gusty shower wraps the impossible. There he goes! And the light of
light, and where the moonshine strikes. Some arrows of the secret informer, so she
was, and my heart hath been our dwelling many years. Think, then madame, for
I esteem those names of men throwing black shadows in
the dark things that could prevent his being there with
those ideals which he answered. I would have liked to have a view of these things.
Is that all the fifteen were condemned, and therefore how could yeh hear
em talkin'? For I will swear to you, now that the cognac was not
within the locks and bars of the youth's face. The short
account of your mule drivers, expressions
of the officers shouting orders to overflowing.

The Same - The Wind

I've been expanding the list of texts being used on this project (The Same) considerably now to fifteen, all from Project Gutenberg. Some combinations of three are more rewarding / pleasing than others and less of a pain to work with. "The Wind" took me a while, and I'm not convinced that the three texts worked too well together. It usually works well to use two island-themed novels in conjunction with another wildcard text, usually philosophical or scientific in a non-island way (Darwin excluded).

Here is "The Wind":

the wind · a little · while the current of
the ocean was a barrel and a groove

the man in money · and the worship · as
the winds directed · and the sea upon
the sand a little way in magnitude ·

the currents doing · through the passage through
the wind · away · a little to the knees ·
the house in hand · a current and a great
desire to secure a hurricane ·
a current like the breaking of the sun
upon another · on the sand · upon
the floor · the bottom of a hurricane ·
the little money now · a little left ·

The Donner Haiku

Composed between 20:58:01 and 21:08:12 Tue June 9 2009

From this money, I
came into possession of
civilization.

Horses were grazing
on their way up, saying they
had endured. For her.

She kissed me and said
that she could not keep my feet
almost maddening.

He had promised to
care for their little daughter
who had been cut up.

Then I laid out my
treasured keepsakes. Each cow wore
a shawl, departed.

She had left us, let
me take him, jerked it off, with
their silks and grumbled.

I fancied grandma
would be ever ready for
the good indians.

Elliot soon starved
to death. Mrs. Brunner, told
him who should occur.

While the pines, and the
grave, for Mrs. Eddy lay
near the settlement.

All were anxious to
meet him part way down the walk,
and in that dungeon.

The Same - The Party (revised)

I've decided to expand the list of sources I'm working from for this series to add greater variation. I'm keeping with the island theme for the sources, throwing in a few oddball texts for texture. I'm still coming up with a final list, from which I will arbitrarily choose three texts for each poem. This one is a bit rough at the end, but I like the new directions it takes, especially in the first two stanzas.

I'm writing them one stanza at a time, saving each and then working on the next. This will allow me to revise any poem by just rewriting problem stanzas.
